To start chats you need an invite link. Ask whoever runs this server for one. Keep it bookmarked: you can open it again for every new chat until it expires.
Just open the chat link someone sent you. You don't need an account or an invite.
If you were sent privi as a file, open the file and paste the chat link into the box.
Call the other person and read your line of emojis out loud, and have them read theirs. If both match, go ahead. If they don't, don't send anything: press End and start over.
Press End or close the tab. Nothing is kept. If one of you leaves by accident, open the same chat link again to get back in, as long as the other person still has the chat open. Once you've both left, that link stops working, so start a new chat. Chats also close on their own after 12 hours.
Messages are locked on your device. Each message is locked before it leaves your phone, and only the other person's phone can unlock it. The server in the middle just passes along locked messages it can't open, and that includes whoever runs it.
Nothing is kept. No accounts, no history, nothing saved on the server. When you close this tab, the chat and its keys are gone for good. Someone who finds the link later can't use it to read what was said.
The link is the way in. Anyone who has the link can join, and only two people fit. Send it to one person only. If they're told the chat "already has two people in it", someone else got in first: end the chat and start a new one.
Tampering shows up. If someone who doesn't have the link tries to get between you, the chat won't open and both screens show a warning.
For important things, check the emojis. Once you're connected, you'll each see two lines of emojis. Call the other person and read your line out loud, then have them read theirs. If both match, nobody is in the middle. This catches the one case the rest can't: someone who has the link and controls the server.
A fresh X25519 key exchange for every session, HKDF-SHA256 salted with the link secret and bound to both public keys, and a separate AES-256-GCM key for each direction. Sequence numbers reject replayed messages, and every message is padded to a multiple of 256 bytes so its length gives little away. It all runs on the browser's built-in WebCrypto with no outside code, and the entire app is this one file, so you can read it with View Source.
